SCULPTURE CONSERVATION 

An independent business as a private sculpture conservator since 1987 to the  present, specializing in Modern and contemporary bronze 

sculpture.  Numerous projects include work for museums, public government  agencies, colleges, private collectors, and other artists; 1987-2018 

Experience has been gained working with such well-known conservators such  as Steve Colton in Los Angeles, Glenn Wharton and Linda Merk in New York  City.  Some museums include the LA County Museum of Art, the Norton  Simon, Palm Springs Art Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, and the Nelson  Atkins in Kansas City.   

Some colleges include Scripps, Pitzer, UC Irvine, and California Institute of  Technology.  An independent project for large scale steel sculpture by Aldo  Casanova for the City of Fullerton, also the Neptune Fountain for the City of  Palos Verdes with Steve Colton, Public Fountain for the City of Riverside, and  work with Glenn Wharton on the Downtown Los Angeles Public Library.   

Judith Davies worked with a team of conservators under Linda Merk’s Fine  Objects Conservation on numerous monumental outdoor sculptures for parks  including the Nichol’s Fountain in Kansas City, and approximately 20 Henry  Moore sculptures for the Nelson-Atkins Museum.  She worked on sculptures  by David Smith, Noguchi, Lieberman, De Kooning, Flannigan, Graves,  Shapiro, Dine, Indiana, Moore, Hepworth, Lipchitz, Nevelson, Archipenko, Arp,  Ernst, Chadwick, Magritte, Medardo Rosso, Pomodoro, Sturman, Casanova,  Zajac, Arnoldi, Okulick, Dill, Nancy Rubins, McMillan.
